Media

Media is redefining itself. It breaks new ground all the time. Professional journalists now compete with citizen journalists. News is immediate and global. Copy deadlines have been compressed from 24 hours to as long as it takes to type a message and click ‘Send’. Communications with media is a conversation. And not all of it is necessarily true.

Skilful media relations are about communicating the right message to the right audience at the right time. But the means of delivery have changed.  It is no longer about pushing a message out. Effective media relations must be transparent, advocate a point of view and include a willingness to participate in dialogue. Without that willingness, your audience will go to elsewhere for information.
